Munich Centre of Advanced Computing - Summer Workshop 2010
Summer Workshop with our Special Guests from the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology
Rechenzentrum Garching, Building D2
Garching, July 14, 2010, 15:00
The Munich Centre of Advanced Computing (MAC) is a research consortium which has been established at TUM to bundle research activities related to computational science and engineering (CSE) as well as high-performance computing (HPC) - across disciplines, across departments, and across institutions. After a successful launch in 2009, the MAC projects meanwhile have filled with life, new projects have joined the centre, and lots of scientific research and interchange ran under the umbrella of the diverse projects. We thus are happy to announce a half-day MAC Summer Workshop 2010 on July 14, 2010, where we hope to meet all our members, our friends, and people interested in our work.
Among the MAC activities are two international projects which are particularly important to us: the Simulating CO2 Sequestration and the Virtual Arabia project. Their cooperation with the King Abdullah University of Science and Technology (KAUST) made MAC a main pillar of the strategic partnership of TUM and KAUST. We are very happy to have two guests from KAUST as invited speakers at the workshop. They will not only give a scientific talk, but will also present their home institution, offer us an insight into an exiting and promising scientific endeavour, and reveal career opportunities for upcoming, promising Ph.D. students of MAC, for Master's Students and Bachelors who think about continuing their studies abroad.
We thus not only invite our members and friends, we'd also like to ask you to bring along your friends and students who might be interested either in MAC or in KAUST. The exact agenda can be found on our webpages (www.mac.tum.de). Please register for the event before July 1, 2010, to enable use to organise everything.
With best wishes,
