Information for Authors

Contributed Papers

We call for high-quality, original contributions (in English language) related to one of the conference topics. Extended abstracts of at least two pages should be submitted in electronic form via the ParCo2013 ConfTool repository. The page limit for final papers will be 10 pages. Please note that the deadline for submission of abstracts for the main tracks has already expired - submission is still possible for some of the mini-symposia.

Author instructions also apply to all submissions for the ParCo PhD Symposium and for all Mini-Symposia that will be published in the ParCo Proceedings.

  • Author stylesheets are available for LaTeX and Word on the IOS website. Other word processing systems, such as OpenOffice, can also be used as long as the specified styles are adhered to. Proposals are to be submitted in PDF-format.

  • Abstracts should clearly describe the contents of the proposed paper. The relevance and originality of the contribution must be described and the most important references included. At most five relevant keywords must be supplied. Also indicate the preferred topic area (Applications, Algorithms or Software and Architectures).

  • All papers proposed for publication in the proceedings are refereed. Authors will be informed about acceptance of their papers by 15 May 2013.

  • Final papers for publication in the proceedings, prepared according to the instructions available from the website, must be received no later than 31 July 2013. Only papers presented at the conference will be considered for the proceedings.

Preparation of Final Papers

To allow a fast processing of the final papers, please make sure that your final manscript matches the publisher's specifications:

  • Please strictly adhere to the guidelines provided with the LaTeX/Word templates. In particular, do not change the paper layout, textwidth, or font size!

  • The first section of the paper should be named "Introduction" and should not be numbered (use \section*{Introduction} in LaTeX).

  • Note that images in figures will be printed in black-and-white in the proceedings volume, but will appear in colour in the online version. Hence, if you use colour make sure that your figures also work in black-and-white.
  • Please use the citation-sequence system in the references, i.e. sort the references in the order as they appear in the paper. If you're using BibTeX to compile your references, please use the style unsrt (\bibliographystyle{unsrt}).

  • In addition to the final PDF, please upload a ZIP archive containing all the source files for your paper.

Submissions

  • The submission server is the ParCo2013 ConfTool repository.

  • Please register and login into the ConfTool Conference Administration server.

  • Under "your submissions" you will find a link to enter the details of your contribution.

  • Fill in the authors, abstract and keywords

  • Upload your paper (submitting only the PDF-file is sufficient for the extended abstracts).

Proceedings

The conference proceedings will be published as a volume of the series Advances of Parallel Computing after the conference. See for example the Proceedings of ParCo2011.

An invitation to (an) author(s) to present a paper at the conference is based on an extended abstract or draft paper. Thus, the presentation of a paper at the conference does not imply an automatic acceptance of the presented paper for publication in the conference proceedings. All papers presented at the conference will be refereed at or after the conference. Only accepted papers will be published.

All papers presented as part of mini-symposia will be considered for publication in the proceedings. This will be done in liaison with the organiser(s) of the respective mini-symposium.
